Hyderabad: Osmania University has again come into limelight after its beef festival. Eight organisers and 16 other students of the controversial ‘beef festival’ on Osmania University campus were detained while BJP MLA T Raja Singh, who was opposing the the event, was arrested in Hyderabad on Thursday morning, police said.

The organizers and the students of the event were arrested for defying the court order against holding the beef in campus. BJP MLA from Goshamahal T Raja Singh was arrested for allegedly saying that he will kill or will get people killed who try to oppose the beef festival.
“We don’t want an incident like Dadri here, but I am willing to kill or be killed to protect cows. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot stop me from preventing this beef festival… I don’t care what the party says. People have a right to choose what they want to eat but it should not hurt anyone’s religious sentiments,” Singh said.
