Amid the ongoing Maharashtra Political crisis, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)led Maharashtra Government decided to dismiss nine rebel Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from their portfolios.

On Monday the 27th of June, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, stripped nine rebel ministers of their portfolios. Of the nine ministers, five were Cabinet ministers of Maharashtra and four were Ministers of the State. 

The decision to remove the rebel MLAs from their portfolios was taken not to harm “public welfare work, which has been stalled as they are currently in Guwahati, Assam.  In regard to this, the Shiv Sena, the Indian National Congress and the National Congress Party led MVA issued an order

Meanwhile, the portfolios of the rebel Shiv Sena leaders, given to other ministers are:

The Urban Development and Public Works department was with Mr. Eknath Shinde, but now have been handed over to Mr. Subhash Desai.

The Water Supply and Sanitation Ministry was with rebel minister Mr. Gulabrao Patil, given to Mr. Anil Parab. 

The portfolios of Agriculture and Welfare of Ex-Servicemen, earlier with Mr. Dadaji Bhuse, and of Employment Guarantee and Horticulture, held by Mr. Sandeepan Bhumare, are now with Mr. Shankar Gadakh. 

The Higher Education and Technical Education portfolios held by Mr. Uday Sawant have been handed over to Mr. Aaditya Thackeray.

Speaking of the Ministers of State, three portfolios of Mr. Shambhuraj Desai have been distributed among Mr. Sanjay Bansode, Mr. Satej Patil and Mr. Vishwajit Kadam. Four ministries with Mr. Rajendra Patil (Yadravkar) have been distributed among Mr. Vishwajeet Kadam, Mr. Prajakt Tanpure, Mr. Satej Patil and Ms. Aditi Tatkare.  Three portfolios with Mr. Abdul Sattar are now with Mr. Prajakt Tanpure, Mr. Satej Patil and Ms. Aditi Tatkare. Four charges with Mr. Omprakash Kudu were distributed among Ms. Aditi Tatkare, Mr. Satej Patil, Mr. Sanjay Bansode and Mr. Dattatray Bharne.

Meanwhile, rebel MLAs under the leadership of Mr. Eknath Shinde are protesting against the MVA Government, citing that tripartite are disturbing the ideologies of the late Balasaheb Thackeray.
