Former Indian National Congress (INC) Mr. Hardik Patel is all set to join the opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

On the 31st of May, Tuesday, Mr. Yagnesh Dave, the Spokesperson of the BJP in Gujarat, confirmed Mr. Hardik Patel’s BJP joining.  Addressing the media, Mr. Yagnesh Dave said, “It is confirmed that Hardik Patel will join the BJP on June 2 in the presence of state president C R Paatil.”

Earlier this month, Mr. Hardik Patel quit the INC over leadership issues and party policies of opposing everything introduced by the BJP, without considering people’s welfare.

One of the major reasons behind his decision to quit the INC was Patidar quota agitation.  Prior to submitting his resignation, Mr. Hardik Patel wrote an open letter to Ms. Sonia Gandhi, the Interim President of the Indian National Congress.  In the letter, Mr. Hardik Patel mentioned that the Indian National Congress “only played the role of a roadblock” over certain key issues in the country and was “merely reduced to opposing everything.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Hardik Patel would join the BJP in Gujarat, in the presence of Mr. C.R. Paatil, the President of the BJP in Gujarat, on the 2nd of June.
