Hyderabad: Election commission (EC) withdraws permission for ads of three political parties at Telangana in violation of model code of conduct.
Six ads of Congress party, five ads of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and four ads of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) were withdrawn permission by EC.
Chief electoral officer (CEO) in his proceedings stated that all political parties agreed to abide by the decision of the certification committee to cancel the objectionable ads. The committee is verifying the objections raised by the political parties and reviewing the ads.
The CEO said that a total of 15 ads were prohibited and the same was communicated to the input editors of electronic media and social media channels and passed directions not to air them again. The orders came into force with immediate effect.
Meanwhile,the legal team of BRS on Monday submitted a representation to the CEO on ad campaigns run by Congress.
