Hyderabad: Police commissioner Kothakota Srinivas Reddy said that his mission is to make the city drug free. He warned owners of bars, pubs, restaurants and farm houses to be extra cautious and strictly prohibit usage of drugs in their premises.

Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday took charge as new commissioner of Hyderabad city police. He thanked chief minister A Revanth Reddy for keeping trust in him and endorsing huge responsibility.

“CM directed us to take serious action against drug peddlers. He wished to make Hyderabad drugs free and asked us to act firm. Will conduct a meeting with the film industry soon and discuss key issues,” Srinivas Reddy said.

Explaining his vision, Reddy said that police will act friendly with people who obey the rules and cooperate with police. We will act firm on antisocial elements and initiate stringent action. Will work in coordination with my senior and subordinate officers to maintain law and order in the city, Reddy added.

Will ensure that Hyderabad police will act swiftly whenever they report any crime, he added.
