Tirumala: In preparation for the upcoming Ugadi festivities, the temple cleaning ritual known as Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam will be conducted at the Srivari temple on April 2.

Following tradition, the temple cleaning ritual takes place at the Srivari temple on a Tuesday preceding major annual festivals such as Anivara Asthana, Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi, and Ugadi.

This year, the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam will be carried out on a grand scale from 6:00 am to 11:00 am on April 2. The cleaning process will encompass all areas within the temple premises, including the Ananda Nilaya Vimana, Bangaru Vakili, sub-temples, corridors, walls, roof slabs, and puja utensils. Traditional detergents and perfumed water will be used for cleaning, while the Srivari Mula Virat will be respectfully covered with a white cloth during the ceremony.

Following the cleaning ritual, the temple priests will conduct special pujas, adorn the idols with silk clothing, flowers, and ornaments, and then allow devotees to have darshan of Srivari.
