Vijayawada: In a move to streamline pension distribution and ensure ease of access for beneficiaries, Shasibhushan Kumar, Principal Secretary of the State Panchayat Raj Rural Development Department, announced that pensions for the month of April will be credited directly into bank accounts starting May 1.

During a video conference with District Collectors, Kumar stated that 75% of pensioners, including those receiving old age, widow, and disability pensions, have bank accounts. These beneficiaries will receive their pensions directly in their accounts.

For those without bank accounts and individuals facing health issues, arrangements have been made for home delivery of pensions from May 1 to 5 by Secretariat employees. This initiative aims to assist disabled and bedridden individuals who are unable to visit the secretariats.

Kumar assured that suitable arrangements are in place to facilitate seamless distribution, eliminating the need for pensioners to visit secretariats. Additionally, he confirmed that pensions for the month of May will also be deposited directly into bank accounts on June 1.

This proactive measure ensures timely disbursal of pensions while prioritizing the convenience and welfare of pensioners across Andhra Pradesh.
