Hyderabad: The number of candidates contesting assembly elections at Telangana has increased significantly. Altogether 2290 candidates were in the race, which is 469 more when compared to 2018 assembly elections. 

 

As per the official statistics with the chief electoral officer of Telangana, assembly elections in Telangana are scheduled on November 30 and the nomination process continues from November 3 to November 10. A total of 2898 eligible candidates have filed their nominations and 608 candidates withdrew their papers. 

 

While 1821 candidates were in the race in 2018 the number increased to 2290 this time. LB Nagar constituency stood first with 48 candidates in the final battle. A total of 44 candidates in the race at Gajwel and 39 candidates at Kamareddy assembly constituencies where CM K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is contesting. 

 

Naraynpet and Banswada stood last with just 8 people in the final poll battle. On an average 19 candidates are in the race from each constituency in Telangana.
