A man visiting Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, was arrested after being caught with live bullets in his wallet, on Monday.

The man, Mohammad Imran, 39 years old, is a caretaker at Masjid Bawli Wali. He came to Arvind Kejriwal’s office to attend a janata darbar (public hearing.) Imran was accompanied by 12 Imams and Maulvis to request Mr. Kejriwal to increase the salary of the Delhi Waqf Board staff.

Harendra Singh, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, said, “The .32 bore live cartridge was recovered from his purse during the search and frisking by the security staff of CM’s residence.”

According to the initial interrogation, Mohammad found the bullet in a donation box at the mosque and planned to throw it in the Yamuna river. He kept the bullets in his wallet to dispose them off later, but forgot to do so.

Harendra Singh said, “He has claimed he found the bullet in a donation box two-three months ago and he intended to throw it in the Yamuna, but since he was yet to do it, he had kept it in his purse.”

The police registered a case against Mohammad Imran under the stringent Arms Act of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and an investigation is underway.
