The Additional Solicitor General of India Mr. Aman Lekhi, tendered his resignation letter to the Supreme Court, on March 4, with immediate effect.

Although, the letter addressed to the Union Law and Justice Minister of India Mr. Kiren Rijiju, doesn’t specify the reason behind the sudden resignation. It is to be noted, Mr. Aman Lekhi was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General in March 2018. After his tenure of two years, in July 2020, he was re-appointed for the Additional Solicitor General post.

According to sources, the tenure of Mr. Aman Lekhi was scheduled to be end in July 2023, he tendered his resignation and ended his tenure early.

As the ASG, Mr.Lekhi has appeared in many important matters before the Supreme Court and various High Courts.
