Robin Williams had made the world a better place with his wonderful and hilarious movies like “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Good Morning Vietnam,” “Night at the Museum,” “Flubber” and the list is endless. In 2014, he took his own life after suffering from a rarely known disease called Lewy Body Dementia for 2 years.

His wife Susan Schneider wrote a letter to his doctors titled “The Terrorist Inside My husband’s Brain” shedding light on this disease that is often confused with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. She spoke of how the disease induces paranoia, memory loss and other terrible problems that can drive a person mad. Lewy Body Dementia, or LBD, cannot be properly diagnosed as it shows overlapping symptoms with multiple other neurological diseases. The only sure way for a proper diagnosis is through an autopsy.

In a compelling letter, she encouraged the doctors to continue their hard work fighting against this terribly debilitating disease and hopes that someday a cure would be found. The letter was published in the medical journal, Neurology.
