Hyderabad will host a two day Global Research and Development (R&D) Summit 2019, on the 21st and the 22nd of February, at the Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre.

The theme of the Global R&D Summit 2019 is ‘International Collaboration in Research and Development for Sustainable Growth.’

At the Summit, the science and technology ministers from Zambia, Ethiopia and Rwanda and the partnering countries of Africa will showcase some major achievements and capabilities of their nations. They will also discuss how the R&D departments of their countries can be enhanced. The Summit will also focus on discussions regarding healthcare, clean energy, product innovation and the problems associated with commercialising the R&D sector.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI,) the Department of Science and Technology and the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) are hosting the event.

T. Papi Reddy, the Chairman of the TSCHE, said, “Policy makers and business leaders from India and Africa would explore ways to collaborate in R&D for sustainable growth.” He further added, “The event would provide an opportunity for participants to explore new collaborations, exchange useful ideas, showcase and promote to the world.”

Harsh Vardhan, the Union Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Science, Forest and Climate and Environment of India, is expected to deliver the main address at the Summit.
