Pakistan Demands Probe From RAW Chief

A senior official of Pakistan has demanded a probe from the RAW chief. The official asked for the probe into Anil Kumar Dhasmana, the RAW chief’s connection with Kulbhushan Jadhav. Jadhav, Pakistan alleged is an Indian spy, who faces a death peanlty in Pakistan.

This information has been officially conveyed to the Indian government. According to reports, Pakistan released another confession video recently, in which Jadhav names an Indian, Anil Kumar, that sponsored terrorist activity in Pakistan. This video, the Indian government said, was a farce and should not be taken seriously. In another confession video, Jadhav named Anil Kumar Gupta and said that he was the handler and joint secretary of RAW.

Pakistan, however, alleges that the name mentioned in the video was Dhasmana’s. It was also announced that Jadhav sought mercy plea from Pakistan Army Chief. The Indian government in relation to this pointed out Sushma Swaraj’s statement in April, wherein she said that while seeking assistance to collect information about Jadhav, Islamabad made ridiculous allegations against senior officials in the country. These officials, according to Swaraj, have no connection with Jadhav. Swaraj also said that Islamabad accepted consular access to Jadhav, only if the Indian government gave “our acceptance of their position.”

Swaraj said, “Nevertheless, in the hope that some forward movement could be made, our response was constructive. We pointed out that consular access to Shri Jadhav would be an essential prerequisite in order to verify the facts and understand the circumstances of his presence in Pakistan.”

Despite these, Pakistan has insisted on the probe into Indian officials that Jadhav named in his confession video.
