Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America (U.S.A.,) on the 21st of April, announced the signing of an executive order to temporarily suspend immigration in the United States.
The decision is yet to be official and is taken to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Donald Trump announced it through a tweet on the night of the 20th of April. However, he did not clarify about when he is going to sign the agreement and which countries would be affected
The tweet read, “In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States.”
Currently, Donald Trump imposed broad travel restrictions on countries like China, Europe, Canada and Mexico to curb the Coronavirus spread. Besides, the U.S., Government last month temporarily suspended routine visa services at embassies and consulates.
The United States of America is the worst affected nation of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
The deadly virus has killed more than 42,897 people in the United States and infected 7,99,515 till date.
