Saudi Arabia and the countries situated in Central Asia are celebrating Eid ul Fitr on the 4th of June.

On the evening of the 3rd of June, people of Arabian peninsula saw the Shawwal (a month of the Arabian calendar) moon in the Tumai region of South Arabia. The Supreme Court (SC) of South Arabia declared the 4th of June as Eid.

People broke their Ramadan fast on the 4th of June and celebrated the festival with enthusiasm and happiness.

The Khaleej Times stated, “Today will be the first day of Shawwal 1440 H (sic.)”

Usually, the crescent moon is observed a day ahead in the Arabian and the Gulf countries, whereas Asian countries celebrate the festival a day after.

In countries like India, Pakistan and Australia, Eid will be celebrated on the 5th of June, as they will see the Shawwal moon on the 4th of June.

With the beginning of the Shawwal month and the celebration of Eid, the holy month of Ramadan will come to an end.
