On Friday, the Indian Army foiled yet another infiltration bid near the Line of Control (LoC,) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Two heavily armed terrorists were killed in this attack.

A senior Army official said “Soldiers deployed along LoC in Uri detected a movement of terrorists trying to sneak into this side from across border this afternoon.” He added, “Army men fired on terrorists, who returned the fire from automatic weapons.”

The official also said the army has started a combing operation in the area. In the last 48 hours, this is the seventh infiltration bid by Pakistani jihadis. It is also the third infiltration attempt in the last 24 hours in North Kashmir.
