On the 9th of December, Thursday, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issued refunds to taxpayers. 

According to sources, the CBDT announced to release Rs. 1,32,381 crores to more than 1.19 crore income tax payers in India.  The refund amount is divided into parts, which include corporate taxpayers and income tax payers.  Of the total amount, Rs. 4CBDT Issues Tax Refund To 1.19 Crore Payers4,207 crores issued in 1,17,32,079 cases and corporate tax refund of Rs. 88,174 crore in 1,99,481 cases. 

The total amount also includes 83.88 lakh return of Annual Year (AY) 2021-2022 amounting to Rs. 17.266.48 crore. 

The refund amount was confirmed officially through a Twitter post by tyr Income Tax Department 

The tweet read, “CBDT issues refunds of over ₹1,19,093 cr to over 1.02 crore taxpayers from 1st April, 2021 to 15th November, 2021. Income tax refunds of ₹38,034 crore have been issued in 1,00,42,619 cases & corporate tax refunds of ₹81,059 crore have been issued in 1,80,407 cases.”
