Hyderabad: Contract agency wrote a letter to irrigation department stating that they are not responsible for the sabotage that happened at Lakshmi Barrage of Medigadda project. It asked the irrigation department to bear the expenses incurred to repair the damaged portion.

Earlier contract agency L&T in a communication stated that the maintenance of the project is still under their control and they will repair the damaged portion of the bridge. State irrigation department also acknowledged the claims of L&T. 

Meanwhile, the agency in its communication stated that the project works are completed by March 15, 2021 and they are responsible for a period of two years i.e until March 15, 2023.

However, the agency wrote a letter to Telangana state Engineer in chief stating that they need to construct a cofferdam to prevent the water flow and damaged portion and inspect the condition of pear. Irrigation department preliminarily estimated that the total repair works will cost around Rs.500 crores. 

State government is serious about the sabotage of the project and is heading to order a detailed enquiry.
