Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the former Member of Parliament (MP) of the Nizamabad constituency, on the 27th of May, addressed the media in Manchippa village, Nizamabad.

Kavitha, a member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) addressed the media and appealed to the TRS activists not to take unnecessary steps and commit anything against the law.

The meeting was related to the recent death of a TRS activist, Shri Kishore. Kavitha appealed to the other activists not to feel bad and depressed regarding the Nizamabad election results.

Kishore, a young activist and worker of the TRS, died due to a heart stroke, as he was unable to bear the news of Kavitha not winning the Nizamabad seat in the Telangana Lok Sabha elections.

Ms. Kavitha, on the 27th of May, visited the house of Kishore and met his family and said, she will stand by them.

During the press meet, Kavitha said, winning or losing does not matter and even if she is not the MP of Nizamabad, she will work for the people of the District. She further added, the TRS does not work for power, but for the welfare of people.

K. Kavitha lost the Nizamabad seat with a margin of 70,000 votes against Arvind Dharmapuri, the MP candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

In the 2019 Telangana Lok Sabha elections, the TRS won 9 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 4 seats and the Indian National Congress (INC) managed to win 3 seats.

The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) contested from the Hyderabad constituency and won the seat.

The Telangana Lok Sabha elections were conducted on the 11th of April and the results were announced on the 23rd of May.
