Neelabh Mishra the Editor in Chief of National Herald passed away today. Mishra was ill with complications from non alcoholic liver cirrhosis. The Editor in Chief was just 57 years old. He is survived by his partner Kavita Srivastava, Shailoj Kumar (brother,) Sudha (sister in law) and niece Nawasha.

Neelabh was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai during the first week of February. Unfortunately, Neelabh developed multiple organ failures just before a liver transplant. He breathed his last with his family by his side.

In 2016 when Mishra was appointed as Editor in Chief he revamped the newspaper to a digital news website. National Herald is a newspaper founded by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938.

Mishra dedicated more than three decades to the field of journalism. He has influenced and mentored young journalists around the country. Neelabh Mishra will be remembered for his brilliant mind and as an inspiration to budding journalists.
