The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 23rd of March, released its second and third lists of candidates contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the names of 37 candidates, who will represent the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The second list has only one candidate contesting from the union territory, Daman and Diu, whereas the third list includes 36 candidates.

Out of the 36 candidates, 23 are from Andhra Pradesh, 6 from Maharashtra, 5 from Odisha and one each from Assam and Meghalaya.

Sambit Patra, the national spokesperson of the BJP, also made it to the list and will contest as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Puri constituency in Odisha.

As of now, the BJP declared a total of 220 candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections, starting from the 11th of April and continuing till the 19th of May.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the BJP and the INC.

The results of the seven phase Lok Sabha elections will be declared on the 23rd of May.
