An Indian Aircraft Antonov An 32, which took off from Jorhat, Assam, on the 4th of June, went missing.

The aircraft was carrying 13 people and took off from Jorhat at 12:25 P.M. The aircraft was scheduled to reach Mechuka, Arunachal Pradesh after 50 minutes, however, it did not reach on time.

The ground staff of the Indian Air Force (IAF) lost contact with the aircraft at 1:00 P.M., since then the aircraft is missing.

The IAF officials said, “Since the aircraft did not reach the airfield, overdue action was initiated by IAF.”

The IAF deployed a team and launched a search operation. Lieutenant Col. P Khongsai, the Spokesperson of the IAF, said, “Every effort was being made to locate the missing plane. Soldiers of the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police are helping in the search as well as helicopters.”

Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India, took to Twitter and prayed for the safety of the 13 people in the craft.
