Hyderabad: In a major good news to the women across Telangana, the newly elected Congress government implemented free bus journeys for the women from December 9, 2023. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy chaired the first cabinet meeting at secretariat on Thursday and approved to implement two guarantees from Saturday on the eve of Sonia Gandhi’s birthday.

Minister Sridhar Babu addressing the media after the cabinet meeting said that two guarantees will be implemented from Saturday. “As promised in our manifesto, we are committed to fulfill the six guarantees. Free bus travel for women, enhancement of cashless treatment under Rajiv Arogya Sri to Rs.10 lakhs will be implemented first,” Sridhar Babu said.

He also added that the state cabinet had resolved to release white papers on the income and expenditure of various government departments between 2014 to 2023. State cabinet opined that there are irregularities in the power sector and decided to take up a detailed review. Sridhar Babu said that the state government is heading to provide free power for domestic consumers who consume less than 200 units per month. 

The Cabinet had decided to review the crop damage that happened due to cyclone Michaung and directed the authorities to help farmers.
