Hyderabad: Former Telangana chief minister and Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) president Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) to undergo hip replacement surgery at Yasodha hospital on Friday evening. KCR was admitted to hospital early in the early hours of Friday after he suffered a hip bone fracture.

As per the available information the incident took place at Erravalli farmhouse late night on Thursday, where KCR fell down while tying his Dhoti. Family members rushed him to Yashoda hospital at Hyderabad, where doctors evaluated his health and planned hip replacement surgery.

Former minister and key BRS leader Harish Rao asked followers of KCR not to panic. He said that the health condition of KCR is improving. Harish asked fans and party workers not to rush to Yasodha hospital as it will increase the chances of infection, post surgery. 

Meanwhile, chief minister Revanth Reddy directed the police to increase security at Yashoda hospital. Revanth directed officials to monitor the health condition of KCR.
