In Kashmir’s Baramulla militants opened fire on a search party this morning triggering an encounter. The search party failed to corner the two militants who escaped from the encounter site.

Initial reports showed the encounter started in Palhalan during a search operation. A police official said, “The search party came under fire from the militants. The firing is going on.”

The number of militants in the area was not ascertained initially but later it was found two militants were hiding. The operation was carried out with the Army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifles, 53 Battalion of the CRPF and the police’s special operation group.

No casualties were reported by the officials. More information is awaited…..
