Amritsar, on the 22nd of May, conducts its re elections in Booth no. 123.

The polling began at 7:00 A.M., and will continue till 5 P.M.

On the 21st of May, The Election Commission of India (ECI,) announced the re elections due to negligence report during the polling.

The ECI also ordered paid leaves to all the eligible voters of the 123 Booth of Amritsar to perform their franchise and vote for the Lok Sabha elections.

The Election Commission of Punjab arranged tight security, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and polling observers to conduct smooth polls in Amritsar’s 123 Polling Station.

Dr. S. Karuna Raju, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Punjab, said, “Polling booth number 123 in Amritsar Parliamentary constituency would undergo re-polling. The concerned Returning Officer and observer have been instructed to act accordingly. The political parties and contesting candidates have also been intimated about the re-polling as per the directions of Election Commission of India.”

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May, which will decide which Party among two, Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress will form the next Government of India (GoI.)
