Kolkata: As many as 11 people were killed and seven others were injured on late Wednesday in an explosion at a firecracker factory at Pingla in West Midnapore district of West Bengal, according to police. It is learnt that the condition of the injured is critical and the death toll is expected to rise. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
It is heard that the factory was used for making bombs and the blast jolted the nearby houses. The owner of the factory, Ranjan Maity managed to escape after the blast.
