Recent release “The Kashmir Files” continues to make headlines, for its brilliant story and being a tax-free release in Indian states.

On the 13th of March, after watching the movie, Mr. Basavaraj S. Bommai, also announced “The Kashmir Files” to be tax free.  With this, Karnataka becomes the fourth state to make Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri-directorial tax free.  The decision was taken to encourage people to watch the Anupam Kher starred movie, which is based on plot of genocide and violence and true narration of exudos on Kashmiri pandits.  

The Karnataka CM said, “Kudos to Vivek Agnihotri for The Kashmir Files, a blood-curdling, poignant and honest narrative of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from their homeland.  To lend our support to the movie and encourage our people to watch it, we will make the movie tax-free in Karnataka.”

The movie was not only praised by chief ministers of Indian states, but the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi.  Recently, the star cast of “The Kashmir Files,” met with PM Narendra Modi and was appreciated for their performances in the movie.

Furthermore, now the movie is tax free in Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
