Veteran Telugu film director Mr. Vidya Sagar Reddy, popularly known as Sagar, passed away in the wee hours of the 2nd of February, Thursday.

According to sources, Mr. Vidya Sagar Reddy breathed his last at his residence in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.  Getting into the details, the director died after battling a prolonged illness, at the age of 70.

Meanwhile, upon hearing the news of Mr. Vidya Sagar Reddy’s demise, many Telugu actors, Tollywood celebrities and other members of the South Film Industry extended their condolences and paid their respects.

Highlighting the early life of Mr. Vidya Sagar Reddy, he was born in Guntur in 1952 and worked as a film editor and an assistant director for several Telugu films.  He started his career as a director with Rakasi Loya released in 1983.  The veteran director then directed films like Daaku (1985,) Stuwartpuram Dongalu (1991,) Amma Donga (1995,)  Oosi Na Maradala (1997,)  Rama Sakkanodu (1999,) Action No 1 (2002,) Khaidi Brothers (2002) and others.

Besides working as a director, Mr. Vidya Sagar Reddy also served as the President of the Telugu Directors’ Association.
