Mumbai: B-Towners and fans went into frenzy after the release of the official trailer of upcoming film “Udta Punjab”, starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles. On Thursday, the star-studded drama landed in hot water!
The Censor Board of Film Certification denied the certification to the film for the use of abusive language. The decision of the CBFC, came a week after the ruling party of Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal had protested and expressed reservation over the film for the portrayal of Punjabis in the film.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the “Udta Punjab” revolves around the issue of drug abuse. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Phantom Films, the film is slated for a release on June 17, 2016.
