Mumbai: Actress Vidya Balan, who is known for shouldering films, bagged another powerful movie in her kitty. This time, Vidya will be seen playing the role of a brothel madam in the forthcoming drama “Begum Jaan“. The movie is an official remake of a Bengali flick titled “Rajkahini“.
The movie is said to be directed by Srijit Mukherjee and produced by an acclaimed movie maker Mahesh Bhatt. The upcoming film is centered around the the repercussions of the Partition on a brothel’s women, who were displaced after the border was drawn. The regular shooting will commence in June.
