Chennai: Sporting a smart beard, stunning three-piece suit and trademark laughter, super star Rajinikanth made a mark in both Kollywood and Tollywood with the release of the official teaser of his upcoming film “Kabali”. Within minutes of the video clip hitting on YouTube, it went viral and started trending on social media. Looks like, it is on a spree of breaking records. The “Kabali” teaser emerged as the highest viewed Indian film teaser.
The video managed to beat the other records of Aamir Khan’s “Dhoom 3” and “Salman Khan’s “Sultan”. At present, the much-talked-about teaser earned more than 17 million views. Interestingly, it bagged incredible views within short span. Producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu unveiled the official teaser on May 1, 2016.
Touted to be a complete commercial entertainer, “Kabali” stars Rajinikanth as a gangster. Other cast include Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dhansika, Kalaiyarasan and John Vijay. Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the movie is scheduled to hit silver screens on June 1, 2016. However, an official announcement is awaited.
