In the afternoon of the 29th of October, Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar, the superstar of Kannada film industry (Sandalwood) passed away.

The 46 year old actor was hospitalised at 11:30 A.M., after Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar suffered chest pain while doing gym. He was immediately rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He was being treated under a team of doctors and surgeons led by Dr. Ranganath Nayak.

Earlier, in a press release about the health situation of Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar, Dr. Ranganath Nayak said, “Trying our best to treat him. His condition is serious.Can’t say anything as of now. His condition was bad when brought to the hospital, and was treated in the ICU (intensive care unit.)”

Later, around 2:40 P.M., Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar took his last breath.

The demise of Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar was confirmed by the doctors of Vikram Hospital and close friends of the actor.

After the news of Puneeth Rajkumar’s death broke out, Twitter users, fans, Kannada stars and Tollywood celebrities mourned the death of the actor.

Son of Kannada Superstar Mr. Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar made his film debut as a child actor.

Back in the 1970s and 1980s Puneeth Rajkumar worked as a child actor in movies such as Premada Kanike (1976,) and Aarathi.

His acting in movie Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981,) Chalisuva Modagalu (1982,) Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983,) Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985) was highly acclaimed and gained him popularity. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Ramu in Bettada Hoovu. He also won the Karnataka State Award Best Child artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu. Mr. Puneeth’s first lead role was in 2002 released movie Appu.
