Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, congratulated the RRR team on winning the Oscar.

On the 13th of March, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, “the Telugu film industry, which has been developing day by day in Hyderabad as the center of Telangana, spread its glory across the world.”  He further said, “this award is a source of pride not only for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, but also for Telugu and Dravidian languages and the entire country.”

CM KCR expressed happiness that today is a festival day for Telugu film audience all over the world and the Telangana government’s efforts for the growth of the Telugu film industry paid off.

CM KCR wished that the Telugu film industry willv continue the same trend in the future with the spirit of Oscar award and more films with diverse stories and reflecting the lives of the people will be produced.

On the 13th of March, the jury of the 95th Academy Awards, Oscars 2023 announced “Natu Natu” as the best original song.  Furthermore, at the Oscars event, a recreation of the energetic song Natu Natu, was performed and received a standing ovation from the audience.  Mr. S.S. Rajamouli and RRR leads Ram Charan, Jr. NTR received the award.

With the S.S. Rajamouli directed RRR win, India won an Oscar in music nomination, after 14 years.  It was in 2009 when India last won an Oscar for a film’s music.  Composer A.R. Rahman won the best original song and best original score for the song Jai Ho from the film Slumdog Millionaire, released in 2008.
