Mumbai: The suicide case of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee made headlines once again when her Histopathology reports confirmed that she was pregnant. The reports added that before her death, she underwent a medical termination of pregnancy. Adding twist to the case, the officials of police said that the investigations showed no link between her pregnancy and suicide, says reports in the B-Town.
The JJ Hospital dean Dr T P Lahane said that they have submitted their findings to the police and cannot disclose anything. But an official from the Forensic Sciences Laboratory said that the DNA division is carrying tests on the samples of nail cuticles and vaginal swabs of the actress, as per reports.
According to reports, an investigator said, “The preliminary inquiry has revealed that Banerjee underwent a legitimate abortion. Her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh informed us that he went along with her to a Goregaon-based gynaecologist for the abortion, two months before she took her life. Singh claimed the duo took the decision together as they were not equipped financially to have a child at that moment. We have corroborated Singh’s statements with the gynaecologist’s and also have a copy of the medical records.”
However, a police officer said that the abortion of Pratyusha is not their line of investigation and there are other stressors on Pratyusha that led her to take her life.
