Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, on the 15th of November, Tuesday, expressed condolences over the demise of Veteran Tollywood Superstar Krishna.

Veteran Telugu actor Mr. Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, popularly known as Krishna passed away on the 15th of November at 4:00 A.M., Tuesday, in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Mr. Krishna, 80 years old, was undergoing treatment at a private super speciality hospital in Hyderabad, after he suffered a cardiac arrest.  As per sources, Mr. Krishna, the father of Tollywood star Mahesh Babu suffered a cardiac arrest and was admitted to the hospital.

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Narendra Modi expressed condolences and said, “Krishna Garu was a legendary superstar, who won hearts of people through his versatile acting and lively personality.  His demise is a colossal loss to the world of cinema and entertainment.  In this sad hour my thoughts are with @urstrulyMahesh and his entire family. Om Shanti.”

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, also expressed his condolences and said, “కృష్ణ గారు తెలుగువారి సూపర్ స్టార్. ఆయనే అల్లూరి… ఆయనే మన జేమ్స్ బాండ్. 

నిజ జీవితంలో కూడా మనసున్న మనిషిగా, సినీరంగంలో తనకంటూ ప్రత్యేకతను సంపాదించుకున్న ఆయన మరణం తెలుగు సినీ రంగానికి, తెలుగు వారికి తీరని లోటు. (1/2).”

In another tweet, the Andhra Pradesh CM said, “మహేష్ కు, కృష్ణగారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరికీ ఈ కష్ట సమయంలో దేవుడు మనోధైర్యాన్ని ఇవ్వాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను.”

(Krishna garu is a Telugu superstar. He is Alluri… He is our James Bond.

A man of heart in real life as well, who has made a distinction for himself in the film industry, his death is a great loss for the Telugu film industry and Telugu people.

(May God give strength to Mahesh and Krishnagari’s family in this difficult time.)

Furthermore, political leaders like Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and Mr . K.T. Rama Rao, the Cabinet Minister of Telangan, also expressed their condolences.

In addition, Jr. N.T. Rama Rao also expressed his condolences and said, “కృష్ణ గారు అంటే సాహసానికి మరో పేరు. ఎన్నో ప్రయోగాత్మక చిత్రాలు, విలక్షణమైన పాత్రలే కాకుండా, సాంకేతికంగా కూడా తెలుగు సినిమాకు ఎన్నో విధానాలు పరిచయం చేసిన మీ ఘనత ఎప్పటికి చిరస్మరణీయం. My thoughts are with Mahesh Anna and the family. Om Shanthi. Superstar forever.”

(Krishna garu is another name for adventure.  Apart from many experimental films and distinctive characters, your credit for introducing many techniques to Telugu cinema will always be remembered.)

Meanwhile, the last rites of Mr. Krishna are scheduled to be held on the 15th of November, Tuesday.
