Kangana Ranaut Responds To Twitter Account Suspension, Says I Have Many Platforms To Raise My Voice

Once again, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut made headlines today, the 4th of May. 

On Tuesday, Twitter permanently suspended the account of actress Kangana Ranaut over certain violations.

Reacting to the suspension, Ms. Kangana Ranaut shared a statement and said, “Twitter has only proved my point they are Americans and by birth a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do, fortunately I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice including my own art in the form of cinema but my heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, enslaved and censored for thousands of years and still there is no end to the suffering. (Sic.)”

Twitter, the micro blogging site suspended Kangana Ranaut’s account for her abusive and violent natured tweets. A few tweets regarding violence in West Bengal after the Trinamool Congress’s win in the Assembly elections, also violated Twitter guidelines.

In her tweet, the actress said, “disturbing news, videos and photos from Bengal of people being murdered, gang-raped and their houses being burnt.” She even demanded President’s rule in West Bengal. In addition, the major reason behind the suspension of her Twitter account is urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tame Mamata Banerjee and show his virat roop face, like he did in early 2000s. With her tweet, it reflected that she was indicating the Gujarat riots of 2002.

“This is horrible… we need super gundai to kill gundai. . .She is like an unleashed monster, to tame her Modiji please show your virat roop from early 2000s..#PresidentRuleInBengal.

“Hundreds of murders and #Bengalisburning But Modi is Fascist and Mamata is a secular leader. Enough is enough #PresidentRuleinBengal.” She recently posted a video talking on the same lines claiming the ‘death of democracy’.”

The tweets were reaction to the posts of  journalist -politician Swapan Dasgupta on the violence in Bengal after election results on Sunday, the 2nd of May. 

In addition, the Twitter officials said, The actor’s account repeatedly violated Twitter policy on “hateful conduct and abusive behavior..”

A Twitter spokesperson said, “We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy.” It further said, “As explained in our abusive behaviour policy, you may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.”

Kangana Ranaut has always made headlines for her outrageous, no filter posts on social media.

This is not the first time she has been in the limelight, previously also she made outrageous comments and posts targeting Indian government and the Bharatiya Janata Party. She even targeted celebrities of Bollywood in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case.
