The Vice President of India Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, on the 23rd of January, Sunday, tested positive for the Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)

The Vice President’s official handle took to Twitter and confirmed the news. The tweet posted said, “The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, who is in Hyderabad, tested COVID positive today.” Posted on Sunday evening, the tweet further added, “He has decided to remain in self-isolation for a week. He has advised all those who came in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested.”

As of now, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu is in Hyderabad and is currently under self isolation. He urged people who came in contact with him to get tested for the Wuhan virus infection and take necessary precautions.

Along with the Rajya Sabha Chairman Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, at least 875 Parliamentary staff tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, this is the second time that Mr. Venkaiah Naidu has tested positive for the Wuhan virus infection. Earlier in 2021 September, he contracted the virus.
