On Wednesday, the 20th of October, Telangana reported 191 new cases with one death and 162 recoveries. The new cases were confirmed by conducting 41,682 sample tests for COVID-19, of which 202 came back positive for COVID-19. This is the third consecutive day, the State Health Department conducted more than 40,000 sample tests. Yesterday, the number of sample tests for COVID-19 infection was approximately 46,000. With this, till date, the State Health Department conducted 2.71 crores COVID-19 tests.
Despite the low number of cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) region reported 49, the highest number of the Wuhan virus cases. Of all the districts, the GHMC limit is the only region with the maximum number of Wuhan virus cases regularly.
The aforementioned data was confirmed through a health bulletin, released by the Telangana Health Department, on a regular basis. The media bulletin of the State Health Department which is being released in the evenings regularly, shares an update about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
According to the health bulletin, Telangana now has 6,69,556 positive cases, of which 3,968 are active cases, 6,61,646 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,942 are deceased. The recovery rate of Telangana is now at 98.81 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past four months at 0.58 %.
