The daily cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 reached close to 4,000 in Telangana. In the past 24 hours, the State reported 3,840 new cases, taking the total active cases to 30,494.
Of the total 3,840 new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 505, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (407) and Nizamabad (303.)
The COVID-19 cases were updated through a media bulletin released on a regular basis. The State Government and the State Health Ministry releases the data everyday at 8:00 P.M.
According to the released data for the 16th of April, the State has 3,840 new cases, 9 fatalities and 1,198 recovered/discharged cases. The data also confirmed close to 1.20 lakh samples being tested for the Novel Coronavirus on the 15th of April, taking the cumulative to 1.14 crores.
With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 3,41,885 positive cases, of which 3,09,594 are recovered/discharged cases, 30,494 active cases and 1,797 deceased cases.
In addition, the case fatality and recovery rates in Telangana stood at 0.52 % and 90.55 % respectively.
Meanwhile, in a separate release, the Telangana Government confirmed over 22.90 lakh people were vaccinated with doses of anti COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, close to 3.36 lakh got their second shot of COVID-19 vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccination drive started from the 16th of January and Nationwide, nearly 10 crore people have been administered the two India made Coronavirus vaccination. As of now, the two India made vaccinations, the Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covisheild and the Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech International Private Limited manufactured COVAXIN are being given to people across India.
