Till the 10th of December, Telangana reported 2,75,261 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, the State reported 721 new cases, 3 deaths and 753 recoveries. 

Of the total 721 new cases, 5 were from Adilabad, 26 from Bhadradri, 123 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) 17 from Jagtial, 9 from Jangaon, 10 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 11 from Kamareddy and 37 from Karimnagar. 

The remaining cases were 32 from Khammam, eight from Komarambheem Asifabad, 17 from Mahabubnagar, 16 from Mahabubabad, 27 from Mancherial, 12 from Medak, 58 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 14 from Mulugu, 10 from Nagarkurnool, 31 from Nalgonda, three from Nirmal, 18 from Nizamabad, 24 from Peddapalli, 9 from Rajanna Siricilla, 51 from Rangareddy, 32 from Sangareddy, 18 from Siddipet, 21 from Suryapet, 9 from Vikarabad, 2 from Wanaparthy, 10 from Warangal Rural, 47 from Warangal Urban and 14 from Yadadri Bhongir.

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases witnessed a 6 % rise in the single day spike on the 9th of December.  On the 8th of December, the State reported 682 new cases. 

In addition, the recovery rate in Telangana is 96.67 %.

Meanwhile, the State Health Department conducted more than 50,000 sample tests for COVID-19 infection.

In the past 24 hours, the Telangana Health staff increased the number of single day tests and conducted 51,402 tests.   So far, the State conducted 59,18,635 COVID-19 tests. 

The increase in single day cases along with sample tests, gave rise to fears of a possible second wave of COVID-19 cases in Telangana.

The State Health Department said the COVID-19 cases would rise after the GHMC elections.  In the last three days alone the State witnessed an addition of nearly 1,920 cases.

The positivity rate too, which had dipped below 1% last week, has marginally increased to 1.19%.

The top four districts of Telangana which contribute the highest number of COVID-19 cases are : 

the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) Medchal, Rangareddy and Warangal Urban.

With the aforementioned data, till the 10th of December, Telangana has 2,75,261 positive cases, of which 7,661 are active cases, 2,66120 recovered/discharged cases and 1,480 deceased cases.
