The Telangana Health Department, on the 23rd of July hinted to the community transmission of the deadly Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

In regard to this, the Health authorities in Telangana issued a warning saying COVID-19 had entered the community transmission stage, asking people to be extra vigilant during the next four to five weeks.

The authorities also asked people to stay indoors if not important.

Dr. G. Srinivas Rao, the Director of Public Health, of Telangana, said there is a clear indication of the presence of COVID-19 in the community across Telangana.

Mr. Rao said, “The virus is in the community and all of us are doing our best to contain it. The state government is pulling out all stops to prevent the virus from spreading. The general public must be very cautious in the next four to five weeks. Masks, handwashing and physical distancing in every aspect of life is mandatory.”

Telangana has reported 49,259 COVID-19 positive cases with 438 deaths till date.

The Telangana Health Department ensured being prepared to tackle high COVID-19 cases in the State.

The authorities said there is no shortage in the healthcare system, the state has made it mandatory for all Post Graduate (PG) medical students of 2018-2019 batch to have one-year compulsory government services in Government medical colleges in Telangana.
