The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is all set to tackle the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 second wave in the State. To avoid any future shortage of oxygen gas, the State Government involved the Army aircrafts to supply oxygen. 

The Telangana Army aircrafts would transport empty oxygen trucks to Odisha from the Begumpet airport. These empty trucks would then be filled with oxygen gas at Tata Steel Plant in Kalinganagar, reducing any consequences and hurdles in tackling COVID-19 situation.

According to sources, the decision was taken by K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, during a review meeting of COVID-19. The process of transporting empty trucks and filling them with oxygen gas would take place under the supervision of the State Health Minister Eatala Rajender and the Telangana Chief Secretary (CS) Somesh Kumar.  

K.T. Rama Rao, the Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development,. appreciated the efforts of Eatala Rajender and Somesh Kumar for overseeing the oxygen tankers being airlifted from Hyderabad to Odisha. The step would ensure fast transportation of oxygen for patients suffering from the COVID-19 infection in Telangana.

Meanwhile, Telangana 3,79,494 positive cases, of which 3,24840 are recovered/discharged cases, 52,726 are active cases and 18,020 are deceased cases.
