The Tamil Nadu Government announced compensation for doctor’s families who lost lives due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on the 12th of May, announced an ex gratia of Rs. 25 lakhs to 43 doctors in the State. The announced compensation would be given to the doctors, paramedical staff and nurses who are involved in the COVID-19 duties for April, May and June.

In addition, for the next three months, medical staff would get incentives under the incentive scheme in Tamil Nadu. While doctors would be paid Rs. 30,000, nurses and trainee doctors would get Rs. 20,000, and other medical staff like sanitary workers, people working in CT scan department and ambulance workers would get Rs. 15,000.

The announcement to provide compensation and incentives was made on the occasion of the International Nurse Day.

M.K. Stalin also extended wishes to nurses and medical staff who are putting an effort to fight, COVID-19 situation.
