In order to create awareness and ensuring majority of vaccinated people, the Punjab Government took a crucial decision.

On the 22nd of December, Wednesday, the Indian National Congress (INC) led Punjab Government announced, ‘No Vaccination, No Salary’ policy.  In an order issued, today evening, the State Government asked all the employees to submit their vaccination certificate on the official Punjab Government job portal. People vaccinated against the Wuhan virus (Novel Coronavirus) either with a single dose or fully vaccinated need to submit their certificate.  They will be submitting their certificate on the Integrated Human Resource Management System (IHRMS,) an official website, to track employees salaries and pension withdrawals. 

The decision is said to be taken against the rising number of Omicron, the new variant of COVID-19 in India and globally.  To prevent the further spread and ensure the majority of people are vaccinated against the deadly virus. 

The government order, however, does not mention what it intends to do about employees who aren’t vaccinated yet.
