In the wake of the Novel Coronavirus rise in several Indian states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to meet chief ministers (CMs) of Indian states. 

In the past few days, states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Karnataka have reported 78 % of the new cases in India. In many parts of India including Maharashtra and Gujarat, respective governments announced partial lock down.

The interaction over the COVID-19 cases and the ongoing vaccination drive is scheduled to be held on the 17th of March. The meeting would be a video conference to be held at 12:30 P.M., on Wednesday.

Mr. Modi last conducted such a video conference before the 16th of January, when the Central Government rolled out the COVID-19 vaccination drive.

Meanwhile, according to the Union Ministry of Health data, On the 15th of March, India recorded 26,291 new COVID-19 cases. It was the highest single-day spike in the last three months.

With this, the Country’s infection tally rose to 1,13,85,339. In addition, so far 3.15 crore people were given the doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
