On the 31st of January, India reported a decline in the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. On Monday, th Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed 2,09,918 new Wuhan virus cases in India.

Besides the new cases, India reported a total of 2,62,628 recoveries and 959 deaths in the past 24 hours.

With the new updated figures, the active caseload in India is at 18,31,268,  death cases at 4,95,050 and 3,89,76,122  recoveries till date.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting 13,31,198 sample tests for COVID-19.  The tests were confirmed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.)

Notably, the current recovery rate in the country stands at 94.37% and the daily positivity rate at 15.77%. Moreover, as of now, India has administered 166.03 crore vaccine doses to people.

In addition, on the 30th of January, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, addressed “Mann Ki Baat” and informed about the majority of population being vaccinated against the Wuhan virus infection. He said, close to 60% population of 15 to 18 year old and 75% population of 18-44 years old received their vaccine against the pandemic broke virus.

Meanwhile, despite declining Wuhan virus cases, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka reported huge rise in COVID-19 cases.
