India Registers 1,997 New COVID-19 Cases With 9 Deaths In 24 Hours

India reported 1,997 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus, also known as the Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)

On the 7th of October, Friday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed 1,997 cases, 3,908 recovery cases and 9 COVID-19 deaths.  With this, the national COVID-19 active cases is at 30,362, recovery cases at 4,40,47,344 and death toll to 5,28,754.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.75%, Meanwhile, India’s daily positivity rate has been reported to be 0.94%, while the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.34%.

In addition, a total of 2,13,123 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 89.64 crores.

Moreover, as of Friday morning, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 218.88 crores. Over 4.10 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid jab since the beginning of the vaccination drive for this age bracket.
