On the 6th of January, Thursday, India reported a massive surge in the Wuhan virus (COVID-19) cases. In the past 24 hours, the nation reported 90,928 cases. The total new cases are 55% higher than yesterday’s 58,097 cases of the Wuhan virus.

In addition, the nation reported 19,206 recoveries and 325 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The cases were confirmed after conducting 14,13,030 sample tests, confirmed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR.) With this, the nation conducted a total of 68 crore (68,53,05,751) tests.

The country’s total death toll reached 4,82,876 total active cases and recoveries in India stand at 2,85,401 and 3,43,41,009 respectively. Facts and figures of COVID-19 data were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry and updated data isn’t available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.) India also reported COVID-19 recovery rate at 97.81%. The situation of the Wuhan virus, along with Omicron, is worsening in India, with at least 26 states affected.

India has administered more than 148.67 crores COVID-19 vaccine doses so far.
