India is witnessing a hike in the cases of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

On the 30th of December, Friday, the Union Health Ministry and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed 243 new cases of the deadly infection with 1 death from Maharashtra.  With this, India currently have 3,609 active cases, 5,30,699 fatalities and 4,46,78,158 recovered/discharged cases.

The new cases were confirmed after the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) conducted 2,13,080 sample tests for COVID-19 infection.   In addition, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.11% while the weekly positivity was pegged at 0.16%.  The active cases comprise 0.01% of the total infections, while the national recovery rate has increased to 98.80%.

It is to be noted, after months of the Wuhan Virus cases are rising in India, raising concern among people.  Considering the current situation of the Wuhan Virus, across the globe, the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued an advisory, requesting the governments of nations to take all the necessary precautions.

Nations like China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States of America are on the radar of danger amid the rising Wuhan Virus Cases.

Meanwhile, in India, the Union Home Ministry issued a set of guidelines like mandatory wearing face masks, social distancing and random 2% testing of international passengers at Indian airports.
